A brand new science course equipping teachers with a range of tools for teaching 7-12 Science.
Supporting Consistent Teacher Judgement
The Supporting Consistent Teacher Judgement workshop has been designed to provide participants with the opportunity to:
• enhance their understanding of the role of assessment in a standards-referenced framework.
• reflect on the role of formative and summative assessment in supporting consistent teacher judgement.
• develop a deep understanding of the standards in order to design and implement quality assessment opportunities.
• participate in activities designed to refine their skills in developing marking guidelines to facilitate consistent teacher judgement.
Working Scientifically
Teachers will be provided with an opportunity to develop the Working Scientifically skills within the classroom and foster a consistent approach in awarding grades within and across schools.
Developing Depth studies in 7-12
This workshop for 7-12 teachers, has been designed to enhance their understanding of the integration of teaching, learning and assessment. Participants will be provided with an opportunity to review a variety of assessment strategies. Participation in collegial discussion will enable participants to reflect upon their own school practices.
